The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the largest cultural areas in the world, which since its inception has developed into a forward-looking, inner-city cultural district. In the year 2000, Büro X was commissioned to develop corporate design, launch and image campaigns, control systems and other measures. The combination of opposites, contradictions and unfamiliar as well as the variety that is offered on the site are the essential core of the MQ. The “staging” of the individual companies, like the MQ location, is the center of communication as a brand. Culture enthusiasts as well as culture muffle should become aware of the offer in the MQ.
At the center of the design concept is an actionist, deliberately inartificial logo. The abbreviation MQ in the round, red label becomes a living signal. It acts as the sender of advertising measures of the individual cultural companies and as a strong logo of the parent company MQ itself. Classic campaigns, programs, BTL activities and promotions through to guerrilla campaigns and giveaways staged the key aspect of “diversity” in an actionistic and playful way. The “Rigido” font is specially developed for the MQ and underlines the brand with its distinctive and independent character. The MQ annual campaigns, which change annually from 2000 to 2013, were developed by Büro X and have received numerous national and international awards.
